The Journey of a Book ~ From “The Day The Music Stopped” to “When the Music Restarts”

In this blog post I’m excited to share not only the journey behind the book’s updated cover, but also how it connects to the broader mission of The Life Strategies Community — to inspire resilience, hope, and meaningful connections in all seasons of life.

The Original Cover ~ A Reflection of My Journey:

When The Day The Music Stopped first launched, I wanted the cover to reflect my deeply personal journey. I chose to feature my headshot alongside the title because it felt intimate, like I was inviting readers into my life. At the time, the caregiving journey I shared was fresh and raw, and my goal was to connect with readers as directly as possible. That personal connection with readers who saw themselves in my story remains one of the most rewarding aspects of my work.



What Inspired the Change:

As the book reached more readers, I realized its themes extended far beyond my own story. The Day The Music Stopped speaks to anyone currently navigating the complexities of caregiving, parent-child role reversal, or loss; and provides insight for those preparing to embark on that journey. It’s a universal experience of faith, love, and resilience. I wanted the new cover to reflect these broader themes — to symbolize not just my story, but the collective journey of those walking similar paths.

The warm autumn colors symbolize transitions, while the light filtering through the trees represents hope, faith, and peace in the face of change.
